Hebrews 5:14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to do discern both good and evil.
1 Corinthians 12:1-11 Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, Jesus be cursed, and no one can say, Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 12:1-11 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit
1 Corinthians 12:1-11 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God.
Mark 1:27 The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, What is this? A new teaching and with authority! He even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey him.
Ephesians 2:1-2 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 For such men are false prophets, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade of righteousness.
Matthew 24:11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.
Discernment of Spirits The discerning of spirits is the ability to discern the spirit world, and especially the ability to detect the true source of circumstances or motives of people, encounters, events or situations.

Discerning the Human Spirit In Lystra there sat a man who was lame. He had been that way from birth and had never walked. He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed and called out, Stand up on your feet! At that, the man jumped up and began to walk. Acts 14:8-10
