Both spiritual fruit and godly wisdom are gifts from God that can only be acquired and developed through a Spirit-filled life. The foundational characteristic of a Spirit-filled life is love, while godly wisdom is characterized by purity. Being peaceable and promoting peace are key aspects of living out these qualities. When we embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and trust in God's guidance, we can reflect Christ-like peace and make a positive impact on others.

  1. There are several important similarities between Spiritual fruit and godly wisdom. Only people who have a saving relationship with God can receive them. Both come from God. They cannot be developed apart from a Spirit filled life. Both must be acquired and then developed. Once acquired, both can only be developed as we walk in obedience and in the Spirit. Both are easier to lose than to acquire. Both are essential if we are going to live a God honoring life. Both are essential if we are going to live a victorious Christian life. Both have one foundational characteristic through which all the other characteristics will develop The foundational characteristic of the Spirit filled life is the Spiritual fruit of love. The foundational characteristic of godly wisdom is the characteristic of purity.

  2. Peaceful, or free from worry. To promote a state of wholeness, well-being and happiness. To live in peace. To make peace, or be a peacemaker. Essentially: When a person is peaceable he will not be bound by the crises and stresses of life. Regardless of circumstances, he will actively seek to be at peace and promote peace with everyone around. Why would a person do this? Because when a person see s his life from God s perspective, then he will be able to consider it all joy when various trials arise, James 1:2-4. When a person sees every circumstance and every experience as an opportunity that God will use to strengthen Him, he will be guided by the peace of God because he knows God is up to something in his life. To be Christ-like is to be a peacemaker. If you are not a peacemaker, then you are not like Christ.

  3. To live with such confidence in Gods guiding hand that you will see all situations in life as opportunities to grow strong in faith and to lead others to do the same. To be peaceable is to be a peacemaker.

  4. Peace: A noun. It is an attribute a believer can possess. Peaceable: An adjective. It is the manner in which godly wisdom is implemented. Noun: The man has peace. Adjective: The man acts out in a peaceable way.

  5. James 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. Hebrews 12:11 All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

  6. Analyzing spiritual discipline and Hebrews 12:11. Discipline does not yield righteousness. If you are saved, then you are already righteous. It yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness. When you confessed the Lord Jesus Christ He made you righteous. Now with a life of discipline, you will learn to act like you are righteous. According to Hebrews 12:11 the primary characteristic of the fruit of a righteous life is peacefulness. Through spiritual discipline, a righteous person learns to act in a certain manner. The peace of God rules in their hearts, Colossians 3:15. It is interesting that the person who walks righteously and the person who walks in godly wisdom both walk in the same manner. It is not a stretch to recommend that if a person wants to live righteously, he must acquire and walk in godly wisdom.

  7. Daniel 3:16-18: Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to give you an answer concerning this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were completely at peace and answered the king with absolute confidence. No fear. They knew in whom they believed and trusted Him completely. There is an incredible peace that comes when you know your life is in the hands of someone you know you can trust completely! When you have that kind of confidence, a peace that passes all understanding will guard your hearts and you will be able to make the most difficult decisions with little stress. You will be peaceable in your decisions and actions.

  8. Acts 18:9-11: the apostle Paul after being comforted by God Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent; for I am with you, and no man will attack you in order to harm you, for I have many people in this city. And he settled there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among men. Paul was so frustrated in ministry that he was about to abandon part of it, But when they resisted and blasphemed, he shook out his garments and said to them, Your blood be on your own heads! I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles. Acts 18:6 Even in the midst of a fruitful ministry, Paul had enough. However, God comforted him. Once he had clear direction from God, Paul was able to serve Him with confidence and peace.

  9. Acts 7:55-57, 59-60: Stephen upon his death by stoning 55 But being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God; 56 and he said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God 59 They went on stoning Stephen as he called on the Lord and said, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!" 60 Then falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them!" Having said this, he fell asleep. When Stephen realized what was happening, he stood his ground and continued preaching. When he saw Jesus standing, he was so overwhelmed by Jesus presence that he abandoned any consideration at all for his own life. As he was being stoned, Stephen asked God to forgive his attackers. Even in death, he was trying to broker a peace between God and his attackers.
