  2. 100M 100m sprints are short distance races which are run in full speed and with maximum strength. sprint events involve several series of qualifying heats. The 8 runners with the best times in the heat, run in the final. the lanes are assigned according to their best times obtained in the heats with the fasted runners in the centre lanes.

  3. 200M The 200 meter sprint is one of the shortest sprint races in the summer Olympic Games. The only shorter race is the 100 meter sprint. The 200 meter race is a great test of power and speed as you are forced to run around a curve and on a straight path.19.19 seconds The following table shows the world record progression in the men's 200 metres, as ratified by the IAAF. The current record of 19.19 seconds was set by Usain Bolt at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics.

  4. 400M The 400 metres, or 400-metre dash, is a sprinting event in track and field competitions. It has been featured in the athletics programme at the Summer Olympics since 1896 for men and since 1964 for women. On a standard outdoor running track , it is one lap around the track. Runners start in staggered positions and race in separate lanes for the entire course The current men's world record is held by Wayde van Niekerk of South Africa, with a time of 43.03 seconds; van Niekerk is also the Olympic champion. Steven Gardiner is the reigning World Champion. The world indoor record holder is Michael Norman, in 44.52 seconds.

  5. MILKHA SINGH 400M Singh's time in the 1960 Olympics 400m final, which was run on a cinder track, set a national record that stood until 1998 when Paramjit Singh excee ded it on a synthetic track and with fully automatic timing that recorded 45.70 seconds.
