2020 2020- -2021 SPSA Modification 2021 SPSA Modification A school may need to modify the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) based on assessed instructional needs and program quality and compliance. If there is a compelling reason to modify the SPSA, the school will complete a SPSA Modification. SPSA Modifications must be reviewed with School Site Council members and are Required to have the signatures of both the SSC Chairperson and the Principal. Principal may check box/sign at bottom of Signature Page in lieu of SSC Chairperson s signature. After the modification has been completed, the school will submit the SPSA Modification and, as applicable, a signed School Budget Signature Form to the Director and LD Title I Coordinator or EL Coordinator or PACE Administrator for approval.
Reasons for a SPSA Modification Reasons for a SPSA Modification New allocation, salary savings, or release of Potential Funding Variance (PFV) BAR Revision of SPSA content with no change to budget (Common Examples: Change of Software or SIM Items) SPSA MOD ONLY Exceptions Report correction/Technical Correction Revision of SPSA content and/or budget BAR
Steps for Writing a SPSA Modification or Budget Adjustment Request (BAR) 1. Check the Program and Budget Handbook & your Fiscal Specialist for budget allowability. 2. Check with the LDNE Title I Coordinator/PACE Administrator for program compliance. 3. Make proposal to School Site Council and if approved, complete a SPSA Modification and (if applicable) Budget Signature Forms 4. Have the Title 1 Coordinator/PACE Administrator review and provide feedback before finalizing the SPSA Modification. 5. Send all applicable documents to Title 1 Coordinator or PACE Administrator for processing.
