Kaplan ensures all candidates are assessed fairly against the Statement of Solicitor Competence. Reasonable adjustments are made case by case to accommodate individual needs. Examples include additional time, modified assessments, and use of specialist equipment. In terms of equality and diversity, Kaplan appoints an EDI specialist trainer, provides unconscious bias training, and promotes diversity among assessors and question writers. Steps are taken to ensure language in questions is appropriate and to monitor performance and bias.
