BYOD Policy Documents Acceptable Usage of Technology Policy - applies to the use of all technology with NSW DEC schools BYOD Policy applies to any student owned mobile electronic device at LISPS Student Agreement - permission note Information and Device Requirements policy overview and device details Reviewed in December 2014
BYOD Policy BYOD is an optional program that individual teachers can choose to implement and parents/students can choose to participate in BYO devices are intended for educational use no dedicated gaming devices or mobile phones are permitted The device must not contain a SIM card Refer to policy document for acceptable uses of BYOD Refer to Information and Device Requirements All internet activity is recorded Where device becomes a behaviour issue or interferes with the learning environment it may be confiscated
BYOD Policy Teachers supporting BYOD will hand out copies of the relevant policy documents, the student agreement and device requirements to their class when desired (during Term 1 and Term 2) Students wishing to participate in BYOD must complete a student agreement and hand it to their classroom teacher BEFORE bringing their device to school

Equipment Thank you for providing the requested equipment Please ensure students come prepared for class Equipment must be labeled (where possible) and stored in one reasonably sized pencil case Replace equipment as required Optional items USB, calculator, textas
Homework Homework policy is currently being developed, you will be informed shortly of the chosen method for LISPS Essential for developing positive work habits and reinforcing key concepts Internet access may be required, if this is not possible teachers will provide an alternative or students may use the school lab at designated breaks Problems? Encourage your child to speak to their teacher Each class will be different with similar concepts (will include reading, maths and inquiry based project)
Student Diaries Student diaries are to be bought to school each day Store diary and any notes inside plastic document wallet Teachers may record any minor incidents or communication in diary please sign Please feel free to write any communication back through the diary, as this is an time efficient method of communication for us Teachers will check student diaries each Monday
Extra-curricular School-based enrichment program debating, maths olympiad, spelling bee, premiers reading challenge School-based CAPA rotation (Wednesday afternoon) In2Uni (Term 3 & 4) Stage 3 Berry Overnight Excursion (Term 2) Excursions (look in to some alternate options in Semester 2) Southern Stars (Term 3) Year 6 farewell (Term 4) Numerous PSSA sporting opportunities throughout the year Please be prompt when receiving permission notes there is a set due date which needs to be adhered to

Contact your child s classroom teacher if you have any issues or concerns before they escalate Ensure your child is organised and prepared for school each day healthy lunch, crunch and sip, water, uniform, equipment, diary and any notes Engage with your child s learning ask questions, assist with homework, talk about successes/challenges in the classroom Check school website and Skoolbag App for updates and permission notes
