Stalking Awareness: Stalking Awareness: Know it! Know it! Name it! Name it! Stop it! Stop it! Talk about it! Talk about it! Presented by Dallas College Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) & The College Alliance Against Sexual Assault (CAASA)
Learning Objectives Learning Objectives Attendees will be able to: Define stalking List at least three community resources available for victims of stalking or other interpersonal violence. List at least three resources for reporting stalking and interpersonal violence on campus.
Know it! Know it! Stalking is a pattern of behavior directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to fear for the person s safety or the safety of others; or suffer substantial emotional distress. Stalkers use a variety of tactics, including (but not limited to): unwanted contact including phone calls, texts, and contact via social media, unwanted gifts, showing up/approaching an individual or their family/friends, monitoring, surveillance, property damage, and threats. Anyone can be a victim of stalking. A majority of stalking victims are stalked by someone they know.

Stop it! Stop it! Report incidents of stalking or dating violence on campus by contacting the Dallas College Campus Police: Call 911 campus phone or Call 972 972- -860 860- -4290 4290 when using a mobile phone or non-campus phone. Add the phone number to your list of contacts on your mobile phone. Talk about it! Talk about it! You can request a confidential counseling appointment at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) by emailing counseling@dallascollege.edu or calling 972-669-6400. Let your friends and classmates know that help is available. Currently enrolled students aged 18 or older can request a virtual or on-campus counseling appointment.
