Official Park Unit/Property Count Official Park Unit/Property Count As of January 2024, the California State Park System has an official total of 280 classified units and major unclassified properties. Changes in the 22-23 FY included No units were removed , nor where new units were added to the State Park system. The total figure of 280 represents 265 classified units, and 15 major unclassified properties. Not included in the System's official total are the 96 classified units that exist only as portions of a larger classified unit.

  3. Potential Classification of Park Potential Classification of Park Properties Properties Scheduled to bring the classification of the Alameda-Tesla Property to the Commission in the Fall. Working with internal staff to develop a prioritized list of the remaining 14 unclassified properties Process Identify significant natural, cultural, and recreational resources Prepare Inventory of Features (resource summary) Evaluate natural, cultural, recreational, and interpretive opportunities Submit proposed name and classification to the Commission
