Review of Charter Committee Purpose 1. Coordinate the development and implementation processes for the newly established policy on ITAGs allowing for the award of college credit validated by third party certifications. 2. Provide recommendations to the Ohio Articulation and Transfer Network Oversight Board which is the Chancellor s policy advisory group.
Committee Structure Leadership Team: Co-Chairs: Community College and University Representatives Credential Chair: OTC Representative Additional Membership One community college representative One university representative Two OTC Directors Career-Technical Education Superintendent Representatives from industry associations Aspire representative State agency representatives: Ohio Department of Education, Job and Family Services, and the Office of Workforce Transformation OATN and ODHE staff ODHE Staff Members: Associate Vice Chancellor, Articulation and Transfer Associate Vice Chancellor, Workforce Engagement Director, Career-Technical Education Transfer Initiatives Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs Vice Chancellor, Higher Education Workforce Alignment
Roles and Responsibilities Two Co-Chairs will share the duties, in collaboration with ODHE staff, related to planning and facilitating the steering committee meetings and activities. One representative from a community college and one representative from a university will serve in these roles. The Credential Chair should be consulted in all planning activities. A Credential Chair will serve on the steering committee and will provide expertise regarding third party credentials for potentials alignment by faculty panels. This person should be knowledgeable about a wealth of credentials, have established relationships with credential providers, will come from an OTC, and will work closely with the two co-chairs. The Leadership Team will provide strategic direction and develop meeting agendas.
Roles and Responsibilities All Steering Committee members shall work to: 1. Support the work of faculty. 2. Establish criteria for identifying which industry-recognized credentials shall be considered for ITAGs. 3. Determine a priority order for credential review. 4. Provide oversight for subcommittees evaluating credentials. 5. Assist with developing procedures that support ITAG policy. 6. Provide guidance on pathways and application of college credit. 7. Discuss and resolve any issues that arise. 8. Provide updates to the OATN Oversight Board.
Policy and Purpose ITAGs: a statewide transfer initiative that guarantees the award of college level credit to students earning agreed upon industry- recognized credentials. Credit is awarded regardless of where the credential is earned. Credit is awarded for specified courses deemed equivalent by faculty. ITAGs are not meant to replace Career-Technical Assurance Guides (CTAGs)
