Status of NYC Community Hepatitis Navigation Programs
Program Managers Diana Diaz Muñoz and Umaima Khatun provide Hepatitis Program services including navigator calls for COVID and viral hepatitis needs identification, medication supply for Hepatitis B and C treatments, tele-health monitoring visits, rescheduling of non-urgent medical visits, and more. New patients are affected by paused testing and outreach activities, intake assessments via tele-health, and postponed treatment initiations.

Hepatitis Program Services (March 2020) Current patients: Navigator calls to identify needs related to COVID or viral hepatitis Ensuring access to medication supply for Hep B and Hep C treatment Monitoring and treatment adherence visits via tele-health Non-urgent medical visits rescheduled to mid-late summer Treatment initiation postponed Unless pregnant 2nd trimester and need of Hep B treatment to prevent transmission to baby Syringe exchange and Naloxone provided by skeleton crews Tele-prescribing buprenorphine (Suboxone)
