In the recent call for tender, 10 individuals applied for project leader positions related to pre-normative research, support services, and non-digital information. The selection process has concluded with Sara Kjellstrand from Sweden appointed for the pre-normative research report, Elizabeth O. Ferrall from Ireland for harmonised standards in support services, and James Hubbard from Ireland for harmonised standards in non-digital information. Each appointed leader brings a wealth of experience and expertise in their respective fields, contributing to the successful completion of the project.

Sara Kjellstrand PRR project Sara Kjellstrand is a Research Strategist at the Funka Foundation with a long experience of managing research projects and studies on accessibility, digital inclusion and equality. Sara has solid experience of conducting research and analysis related to EU and international standards for accessibility and universal design, with a particular focus on user needs and inclusion of persons with disabilities. In recent years, she was the scientific leader for a study on inclusive web accessibility for persons with cognitive disabilities in an assignment for the European Commission. Sara is regularly providing lectures and trainings on accessibility and universal design for Funka Foundation and the Nordic Branch of IAAP, the International Association of Accessibility Professionals.

  4. James Hubbard Non-digital information James is the Senior Design Advisor for promoting Universal Design of Products and Services in Ireland at the National Disability Authority s, Centre for Excellence in Universal Design. He works on research, education, design guidance and represents Ireland on ISO and CEN standards committees. He was the Chair of CEN-CENELEC JTC 12, for their Design for All standard and was Co-chair for NSAI I.S 374 Universal Design for Utilities Suppliers and NSAI I.S. 373 Universal Design for Tourism, standards. He has been recognised for an Innovation in Standards Award has received Innovative Policy Zero Project Awards. Key to his work is facilitating participation by a wide range of societal stakeholders. He had also worked over 20 years at university in the USA, teaching, consulting and supervising new product development with a focus on Human Factors/Ergonomics Engineering, Assistive Technology and the Americans with Disabilities ACT.

  5. Elizabeth OFerrall Support services Elizabeth has worked at the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) as a Senior Scientific Officer in the Standards Development Department for the last 21 years with the portfolio of Universal Design, Accessibility and Consumer Products and service and previously as a Product and Mgt Systems Certification Officer (Conformity Assessment) for 10 years. Elizabeth is an Engineer by profession and holds a Master in Law International Justice Human Rights. They have represented the Irish Government on a number of techical issues over the years at European Commission level. She has contributed to the revision of a number of ISO Guides but particularly ISO Guide 71/CEN Guide 6 and the development of a number of National and European Standards which address the needs of diverse users including vulnerable consumers . Elizabeth is a member of CEN/CLC/JTC12 , CEN/CLC/ETSI/JWG eAccessibility and CEN/CLC/JTC11. In 2014, Elizabeth was appointed as the Task Group Coordinator to the European Commission Project NSA/CEN/ENTR/473/2012-20, for Mandate M/473 Standardization Mandate to CEN, CENELEC and ETSI to Include "Design for All" in relevant standardization initiatives including the development of EN 17161. Elizabeth has presented at "Inklusionstage 2017" ; on accessibility at the Academy of Law in Trier , European Accessibility Summit Side event and AccessibleEU events . Prior to joining NSAI , she worked in a number of industry sectors, including medical device, automotive, light engineering and electronic hardware manufacturing holding positions in manufacturing, quality, and project engineering.
