STEM Scholarship Program for Mathematics Majors
The South Plains Mathematics Fellow Program is a collaborative initiative aimed at attracting new STEM students to major in mathematics. The program offers NSF scholarships and mentoring opportunities for students from low-income households. Beginning in 2007, the program has evolved to include various mathematics mentoring initiatives and scholarship programs in West Texas. This comprehensive approach seeks to address the leaking pipeline in STEM education by providing support and incentives for students pursuing mathematics-related studies.
