Steptacular Performing Arts SAFE RETURN TO DANCE APRIL 2021
Steptacular Performing Arts School Safer return to Performing Arts protocols for our Senior and Underage students .
Introduction The primary aim of this Protocol is to protect the health and safety of our students, teachers and parents in a safer return to Performing Arts. This protocol will be in line with the direction the school has received from the DLR Mill Theatre, and performing arts associations . This protocol will follow all the Government updates on the Roadmap for reopening society. This protocol is a live document and is subject to change in line with Government updates. 2 Compliance Officers will be appointed to ensure compliance and application of new guidelines Regular de-briefing sessions will be held with teachers and the Compliance Officers.
Key date 26thApril 2021 Steptacular Performing Arts school will re-open to all classes in an outdoors capacity accordance with Government guidelines on the 26thApril 2021. Steptacular will be resuming classes outdoors in The Scientology Centre (Firhouse) and The Spawell Pitches (Templeogue) 2 out door Marquess with flooring for dancers will be our studios until safe to resume inside facilities.
Management / C-19 Compliance Officer The school Director and Scientology / Spawell centres will meet to review the Safe Return to Performing Arts outside Protocols before the school return in April 2021. In line with direction we have appointed two C-19 Compliance Officers The CO s will be supported in their role to secure maximum compliance by the school director . The role and responsibilities of the CO s will be provided and shared with all teachers, parents and students. Steptacular has advised its insurers of its return.
Training venue, facilities and equipment A C-19 Risk Assessment will be carried out in advance of the resumption of school return. All equipment must be sanitised after each class. There will be new rules for toilet use and numbers will be limited. (details in later slide) Details of a collection and drop management plan will be shared in advance of the school re-opening. Students must bring their own hand sanitisers and before each class the group will clean their hands based on the government 20 second rule. Face masks are not required for students under the age of 12 during class but can be worn if preferable.
Teacher responsibilities All teachers must be familiar with the school s Safe Return to Performing Arts Protocols. All teachers must ensure that all participants in each class are briefed on the protocols. Protocols must be applied throughout the full duration of each class All teachers must complete a roll call before each training session for contact tracing purposes. Teachers must bring their own hand sanitisers. Teachers must ensure that the studio is clear of all equipment after finishing each session.
Before you teach You must stay at home if you: Have been overseas, in contact with someone with C-19 or a suspected C-19 case in the last 14 days. Have, a temperature, flu-like symptoms or feel unwell. Experience the sudden onset of a cough or shortness of breath. Experience a sudden loss of sense of smell and/or taste. 1. 2. 3. 4. You must: Check with your GP if you are in a high-risk health category and ask if you are medically fit to coach. Full disclosure must be provided to the club in this regard. Ensure the school has your most recent contact details. Be familiar with the school s C-19 safety protocols. Speak with the Compliance Officers about any concerns you may have. 1. 2. 3. 4.
Student and Parent Responsibilities All students & parents must be familiar with the school s protocols. All Parents will need to fill out the back to class declaration form before your 1stclass. Only students booked in via booking system will be able to attend class. (15max per session) Students must be dropped off by a member of the same household or can arrive alone (if age appropriate). Parents are not permitted to remain at the venues and must adhere to the new rules around collections and drop offs Students must arrive in their training gear with their own equipment, including drinks/water bottles and foot wear. Students must bring their own hand sanitisers and a spare mask in case of serious injury. Face masks are not required during the sessions but are permitted. Personal items cannot be shared and must be brought home after every class. Students must bring a small bag to class with a drink, mask and hand sanitisers. No mobiles are allowed.

Our classes While walking to and from classes all teachers students must be mindful to ensure social distancing. Between classes, gaps will be planned into the timetable. All activity must take place only on the allotted area. Group hand cleansing must take part before each class starts. Contact in classes must be kept to a minimum. Teachers and students must practice sneezing and coughing etiquette. Any meetings must adhere to social distancing and last no more than 10 minutes. As we will be dancing outside the use of toilets is limited. Please make sure that you use the toilet before attending class. If any child desperately needs to go to the toilet in class times please see protocols: Scientology: Any child under 13 must be accompanied by a chaperone. The chaperone and student will need to take a temp test and contact details will be recorded purely for Covid guidelines. You will need to wear gloves and a mask entering the building. This same protocol will adhere to 13yrs +. Spawell: U13 accompanied by a chaperone.
Student welfare Students in need of attention for an injury should be treated in the room where they are performing if possible. A student suspected of a new onset of C-19 must use their face mask and must be isolated immediately from the rest of the group. Contact must be made with a parent/guardian of any student who is suspected of contracting C-19. Any student suspected of contracting C-19 must be advised to contact their GP as soon as possible.
