  2. LOCATION Absolute Location: 4.2105 N, 101.9758 E Malaysia is partially a island nation located off the gulf of Thailand while the other half is connected to Kalimantan

  3. PLACE Malaysia is split in half by the South China sea making it have many different land forms as well as climates. It's climate is considered equatorial meaning it is hot and cold dependent on the season. It has Volcanos and mountains along with large coast as well as swamps near the west coast. It has a large amount of diversity in it's ethnicity, speech, religion, and food. Malays, Chinese, Indians and many other ethnic groups have lived together in Malaysia for generations each having influenced it creating a truly different culture. It shares the sea south china sea with the countries around it.

  4. MOVEMENT It has a major use of air and sea travel due to it being in two parts. Due to it having many different cultures and over 130 languages it has a lot of variety that attracts people there. While it has this it is in the middle of a financial crisis as some of people who have moved away have said. They import electronic equipment, petroleum, and wood products. They export electronics, palm oil, and chemicals.

  5. REGION It has a history that dates back 40,000 years. Bringing in Islam and Hinduism later. It's placement made it have a very rich culture making it very different in comparison. It has a industrialized market economy. Currently it has arrested over 100 people who either were joining the Islamic state or supporting them through terrorist attacks in Malaysia as well as evidence of human trafficking taking place.

  6. HUMAN-ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION Since it's first settlers were traders it has kept a market like economy throughout it's history. Since it is split in half both parts have seen change in it's 40,000 year history it has seen much change throughout it a lot of which hasn't been documented. Most people live in the Peninsular Malaysia.

  7. FUN FACTS It is native to the Malaysian sun bear, orangutans, and elephants. It also has a plant called the ginger of Malaysia and Borneo. It's currency is the Malaysian ringgit. It's national holiday is on August 31 It's name comes from the word "Malay" and the Latin-Greek suffix sia It's original name "Malayadvipa" which is believed to come from the Tamil word "melayu" which was a combination of their words for mountain and city/land. Its anthem is called Negaraku which means my country.
