Attendance Approval of the Agenda Approval of the Minutes from previous meeting, February 27, 2020 Covid-19 and its impact on the CPI process for the academic year 2020 The CPI process for Administrative Units a. Hangover Reports: i. Best practices in Career Services evaluations ii. KPIs for Others, such as Student Affairs evaluations iii. Discuss the feasibility of adopting existing templates for our units New Business 6.

  3. COVID-19 and the CPI: Academic Department How Do We Move Forward? Changes and Uncertainties: Original deadline for academic department to submit annual evaluation report on KPIs was June 30. Is this date still realistic? Original deadline for academic department to submit proposal of quality initiative was August 15th. Is this date still realistic? Will there be funded initiatives?

  4. COVID-19 and the CPI: Administrative Units How do we move forward with the CPI of Administrative Units? Thoughts and proposals

  5. MSCHE visiting team recommendation The NYIT should identify examples of how CPI has been used to advance mission-based metrics. These examples, from multiple programs and services, and across multiple schools and colleges within NYIT should be demonstrable and documented. (standard I) Develop and implement systematic procedures for evaluating administrative units and for using assessment data to enhance operations (standard VI)

  7. Research Questions: Trend in the area of career services measurement Types of key performance indicators or metrics (include many student affair units) Tools to track and monitor these metrics

  8. Why Measurement? Demonstrate the quality and value of the services Inform the improvement effort and recognize staff performance National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE)

  9. What and How to Measure? Job placement rate? Graduate or professional school entrance rate? Clarify career services mission and functions Make sure they contribute to institution s mission and goals Then measure how effective are those functions

  10. Measurement Recommendations Core functions Student engagement Job search support Student success Key Performance Indicators # of career advising, # of workshops attended Students feedback, # of interviews scheduled # of employers at job affairs, # of internships or # jobs posted job placement rates, admission of graduate school rates...

  11. Criteria for measurement Sufficient, objectivity and comprehensiveness Quantitative and qualitative Inclusive: students, employer, and other coordinators Benchmark to comparable institutions

  12. Other administrative units Similarly, What are the core functions of the unit that contribute to the institution s mission and goals? What are the key Performance Indicators for them? What tools can be used to collected for the data (share the excel doc)

  13. Discussion of the Hanover Report How does the recommendations work for CS? What are the implications for other administrative units?

  14. Discussion Can we implement a similar evaluation process for all the administrative units? (share the framework) An annual report template? (share draft template, word, excel.) Timeline? Scale? All or some?
