  3. Approaches to Strategic Planning Different approaches to strategic planning SWOT Approach Aspirational Approach Alternative Futures framework Identified 7 alternative futures (website) e.g., professional education leader Final strategic plan will likely include elements from different futures

  4. Generate Potential Initiatives Ways to advance toward alternative futures Existing initiatives that spread to other units and/or increased New ideas Please provide ideas to committee!! Consolidate and refine ideas Initial impact assessment (e.g., enrollment, student success, research/scholarship, institutional resources, and/or regional development) Have 2-3 potential initiatives for each alternative future
