Checklist of Things to Do Checklist of Things to Do Know what laws are covered: Title IX (Sex/Gender- athletics, courses, staffing, etc.) Title II (American with Disabilities Act-ADA) Title III (English Language Learners) Section 504 (handicap under 504) Title VI-Non-discrimination (Race, color, national origin, religion, age, protected class, etc.) Know and post both types of non-discrimination notices: Vocational/Career and Technical Education-MCS publish in newspaper General Public Notice-MCS publish in newspaper All, add to all official communications. Hold annual training (agenda, minute meetings, etc.)

  3. Checklist of Things to Do Checklist of Things to Do Avoid saying we don t see race, disability, etc., we treat everyone the same, we don t have that here or we use open enrollment. Be able to provide evidence that you are abiding by the law (enrollment, staff, parent letters, meeting agendas, discipline data, school improvement plan, facilities, student knowledge, staff knowledge, family night, support available from district staff, school culture, lesson plans, etc.). Data check- Is the percentage of students/classification statuses represented among your education programs? Staff? Athletics? Discipline? Etc.? Be able to triangulate your data (alignment with multiple sources) and communicate work in-progress. Make sure you, your staff, students and parents know who to contact to learn more about Civil Rights or to file a complaint/grievance.
