Realignment for Membership Success Stuart Rotary 2022 - 2023
Our mission Rotary International, whose mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. Simply, Service above Self defines Rotary. Defines what we offer the community. BUT .you cannot provide service without members.
Throughout the United States Rotary membership is down. Most community organizations are facing a downturn. Even pre-Covid the issue of declining membership as the millennial The Problem population came into the natural age to become involved in their community has been a hard sell.
Membership Revenue is down 17% since 2019 Our Rotary club s member numbers is at one of its lowest at 40 members 78% of our members are age 60 and older, we have 4 members aged 59 and younger. The Problem Only 23% of our membership is female What s our Value Proposition?
Whats the number one essential component of a successful business?
It Answers a NEED! We must create a value proposition. The Stuart Rotary Business Development Program answers the needs of many small business owners.
The Business Development Program aims to be a growth partner to any small business owner. By providing a rotation of speakers that provide valuable information to grow them as business owners and people. How d you going to do Ultimately growing club membership grows the purpose of the club. that? Rotary s own data* shows that members years 1-5 are involved for networking. Years 5-20 for Service Years 20+ for friendship, social value. *The Rotary Buffalo Study
Success story: Tony Knight Rotary Club Calgary West This guy grew his club. The key actions he took were: 1) changed the membership location to a hotel 2) Partnered with one charity and focused on making an impactful, long-lasting contribution. 3) Allowed members younger than 35 to attend volunteer projects but were not required to attend luncheon meetings. 4) Converted the weekly meetings to more dynamic and exciting content. Invited really good speakers.
