Imperative of days and weeks ahead: to save the lives Is it possible? - Yes! probably to significant degree - - need to balance saving lives and economy But How to - is highly-highly politized (everywhere, incl. Slovakia) - By prevention - reducing spread of infection low hanging fruits: - school closures again tele-learning - face masks, physical distancing, group limitations, extra protection of vulnerable groups retirement houses etc. - 5 days in, 9 days off work regime wherever possible? - By active prophylaxis whole population or at least vulnerable groups and essential professions Vit. D, Zinc monitoring and supplementation (levels, dosage)
Imperative of days and weeks ahead: to save the lives 2 - By effective and affordable outpatient treatment: Does it exist? - Serious confusion and political biases in the U.S. right in the middle of critical election campaign- HCQ, remdisivir loby, WHO failure - Absence of lege artis treatment need to use best AVAILABLE and AFFORDABLE treatments. E.g. using combinations of generic drugs such as HCQ, azithromycin, Zn, vitamin D, calcifediol, ivermectin, doxycycline (D. Raoult, T. Borody...) - Cents versus >2000 euro! - Failure in outpatient treatments will lead to overload and possible collapse of hospitals - see Northern Italy in March, Prague today
Imperative of days and weeks ahead: to save the lives 3 - By up to date AND affordable hospital and ICU treatment protocols such as MATH + protocol https://covid19criticalcare.com/math-hospital- treatment/scientific-review-of-covid-19-and-math-plus/#1596274217294-29a4f4e2-63ce - Nonsense of using antiviral remdesivir at ICU but nonsense to give 2100 euro medicament to mildly sick person :-/
Beyond pandemic? 2021 from health crisis to economic and political crisis - - - Currency printing, risks of devaluations Rapid growth in public/ government debts Massive wealth redistributions rich get richer, poor are left poorer threat to social stability and democracy Real economy destruction in particular in specific industries such as tourism (hotels, restaurants, congresses, events), air transportation, mass personal transportation + demand destruction oil, cars, luxury goods... Remittances flow reduction Food security in poor countries may/will be affected Political and security destabilisations - - - -
2021: From health crisis to social transformation opportunities? - Health care reforms shift of focus from treating diseases to prevention and health support (= life saving opportunity ) - Climate change mitigation greenhouse gas reduction opportunities, pro- environmental life-style changes (= life / civilization saving opportunity ) - Work-time reforms rapid growth in teleworking, opportunity to shorten work week or even shift from 5-2 work regime to 5-9 work regime for instance in middle and higher education and various services. More challenging but not impossible in various industries . Shift from live for work to work for life society?
Thank you for your attention Good luck with pandemic and beyond!
