Facilitated by Ms. Cantor, Mrs. Fitzpatrick, and Mrs. Kalina, the Benchmark Literacy program supports students in developing foundational literacy skills through engaging activities and texts. It focuses on phonics, word study, fluency, and close reading, with a structured curriculum divided into 10 units lasting 3 weeks each. Students explore a balance of fiction and non-fiction texts, enhancing their literacy skills through various resources such as e-books and leveled readers.

Benchmark Literacy is a comprehensive research- proven program for our Kindergarten through Sixth grade students. What is Benchmark Literacy?
Builds foundational skills such as phonics, word study, and fluency. Scaffolds for ALL students to access complex informational and literary texts. Guides students to use text evidence in close reading. Develops writers by teaching the writing process and writing to sources. What is Benchmark Literacy?
The text is divided into 10 units. Each unit lasts 3 weeks. There are whole group and small group texts. Advance All Steps to Advance Accelerating Reading & Language This is an intervention resource designed to help struggling readers in Grades 2-6. This program helps striving readers progress to grade- level text and content: Interventions This program provides engaging texts at different reading levels, interactive materials and predictable routines. 1. Prepares students for grade-level text 2. Makes grade-level science, social studies and ELA topics accessible
