Olinick, Associate Professor of EMIS (Lyle) David Bertrand, Director, Sport Performance Leadership and Clinical Assistant Professor (Simmons) Pia Vogel, Professor of Biological Sciences (Dedman III) Ex Com Liaison Additional Charges Review data on undergraduate demonstrated financial need versus aid and determine, on average, breakdown of aid by percentage in terms of grants, loans, work grants, etc. Determine breakdown of types of aid and percentage of need met for undergraduate students by race and gender to determine whether discrepancies exist. Perform comparative analysis of the academic performance of students admitted under FASS and students admitted under Meadows' test-optional admission program.

Findings Breakdown of aid by type and recipient will be included in the written report. Percentages of need met (89%) and need met by gift (75% - 79%) are very close by ethnicity and gender Distributions of aid sources (SMU gift, outside gift, Gov. grant, and self-help) are vey similar by ethnicity and gender Considerable variation by ethnicity in % borrowing (24% to 65%), average amount borrowed ($27k to $43k) , and lender (Fed., State, Commercial, SMU) FAAS and Meadows Test-Optional Program Report will have summary data Meadows: So far so good FAAS: Sample data on next slide Student-Athlete Academic Services (SAAS) and Academic Development of Student-Athletes (ADSA)
