What can you do if you are confused? Check Canvas Always check the Canvas calendar to check due dates & upcoming assignments/tests. Email your teacher Schedule a time to meet with your teacher during Resource and/or Tiger s i Start a peer study group and/or create a classroom peers group chat Always complete the enrichment opportunities when they are presented to you
What can you do for extra practice? 02 03 04 01 Review recorded Screencasts that offer directions for a specific assignment. Access extra practice in the Extra Practice module during applicable units. Always have an independent reading book to continue building your reading skills Utilize our Canvas materials/files to review prior lessons/units.
Review Available Online Resources Class Link:This is a hub to many of the apps that Central Bucks uses. Canvas: accessed through links embedded in Canvas. Be respectful of yourself and others. Be tolerant and understanding. Participate in class. Share your thoughts, ideas, and opinions they re worthwhile. Review Classroom Expectations Be a responsible student. Complete your work on time and come to class prepared. Ask for help when you need it. Read for pleasure. Read because it s assigned. But whatever you do. READ! It will benefit you in more ways than you can imagine.
Review Classroom Rules DAILY PREPARATION CELL PHONE POLICY ASSIGNMENTS AND DUE DATESWILL BE POSTED IN THE CLASSROOM AND ON CANVAS. YOU SHOULD BE CHECKING CANVAS DAILY FOR AGENDAS, LESSONS, DUE DATES, ETC. CELL PHONES SHOULD ONLY BE USED IN CLASS WITH MY PERMISSION FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM TEXTING, EMAILING, USING SOCIAL MEDIA, FILMING, TAKING PICTURES, ETC. DURING INSTRUCTION.
Check Student Portal often to keep track of your formative & summative grades
Review Grading Practices Your grade is composed of summative (90%) and formative (10%) assessments. Please use Parent Portal as a proactive resource for being aware of your grade. All work is expected to be submitted on time; due dates matter! dates matter! If you see an M M in your grades, it stands for MISSING This means that the assignment can still be completed and handed in. A missing is calculated as a ZERO until the assignment is completed. A ZERO ZERO indicates that you can no longer earn points for that assignment. You will complete two district core assessments this year. due MISSING.
