  1. UNIV 101 Faculty Connections at an Honors University

  2. Tips Everyone here wants you to succeed! We are on your team. Ask for help when you feel the water circling around your ankles or knees. Browse the faculty list of your major's department and look for professors with whom you can relate. That could also be a professor you identify with, for instance, because they are Latinx, first generation in college, or a woman.

  3. Tips See your professors as more than course instructors or advisors who will help you select courses to take. Go to office hours. Just show up and your profs will do the rest. Not at the end of the semester. At the beginning!

  4. Tips Seek experiences that will help you grow and understand your profession. Create or find a study group! TRY first. Then ask.

  5. Tips If you want to be treated as a professional, show and demonstrate professionalism. Failure is not forever. Failure helps us know what to do better! Join an organization, a team, find an internship, or a research opportunity.

  6. Let these tips guide you and ENJOY THE JOURNEY!
