2020 SUMMER RECRUITING Updates, Expectations, and Changes
This Summer Will Be Different 01 02 03 D1 programs are in a dead period until July 31st. D2, D3, NAIA, JUCO will still be out recruiting. Video, social media, and communication via emails will be more important than ever.
This is for D1 only, for other divisions they will be out recruiting in full force starting in July. This affects Sophomores and Juniors the most This does not mean they won t watch video, live streams, read emails, etc
D2, D3, NAIA, JUCO NCAA DII: NCAA DII:Dead Period Until May 31 & Quiet Period June 1 -30: cannot have on campus visits & coaches cannot go out recruiting but coaches can hold camps and clinics and participate in non institutional camps & clinics.(May 20th Update) NCAA DIII: NCAA DIII:No actions have been taken with regard to additional recruiting restrictions and DIII does not have specific recruiting periods. NAIA: NAIA:No actions have been taken with regard to additional recruiting restrictions and DIII does not have specific recruiting periods. NJCAA & CAL JC: NJCAA & CAL JC:Lifted ALL recruiting bans effective May 16th. Individual regions and institutions are permitted to implement rules and restrictions in order to comply to state and local regulation.(May 11th update) These rules are not just for you, they are for every student-athlete in the country. We are all learning and adapting as we here.
What This Means for You as an Athlete Emailing will be more important than ever, keep your name, highlights, and information in front of the coaches. Keep your options open, be realistic about your ability, and your boundaries for schools you would attend Athletic scholarship money available may be less, grades are more important than ever. The TFL will have athletes go live streaming every game and we will stream via the periscope app or Facebook Live depending on viewing trends Periscope Channel -@momentumfastpitch18u Facebook Momentum Fastpitch
Summary Recruiting is not coming to a standstill. This only affects D1, that is not the goal or expectation of everyone Make the most of the info you have and keep working hard towards your goal.
