COVID SITUATION: Public Health Rates continue to rise locally : good infection prevention and control remains essential in care homes as restrictions ease. Data is updated daily and it might be useful to show slide 4 on the dashboard which indicates a rise in 60+ along with other age groups, but note the scale rates much lower in this cohort than younger age groups. Covid-19 dashboard for South Gloucestershire | BETA - South Gloucestershire Council (southglos.gov.uk) Hospitalisations and deaths are lower than in previous waves : vaccination. Some people infected even when double vaccinated . Some outbreaks in care settings, but not as serious as previous peaks vaccine is working. High community infection rates also having significant impact on the workforce because of large numbers self-isolating as close contacts of cases. Call to action: vaccination for anyone who hasn t had 2 doses, test test test!!!! www.southglos.gov.uk South Gloucestershire Council
Supporting Providers with direct and indirect Impact COVID/ Context Increased emphasis on Impact and Forward Support Care Homes Continued outbreak support. Occupancy and Sustainability:: nuanced rather than tracker based: survey with C&SW by end July. Additional Impact EU Settlement on workforce, please respond (Impact/ contingency/ support needed) Vaccination programme, Review scale of impact on workforce, mitigation plans, support needs Dom Care Work with Cluster-based lead providers to address sustainability Supporting system working DayProvision Subsidising where cant offer same level service, supporting to reopen end July New Models going forward www.southglos.gov.uk South Gloucestershire Council
Distribution National Funding ICF Funding 694k: One payment on basis of signed agreement, weekly completion of tracker, and previous compliant use of grant Shared to care home providers on basis number beds and dom care providers on basis of number of clients as reported on the tracker Limiting use of public transport / accommodation to live in the home have been removed from the direct allocation into the 30% local authority discretionary element. Discretionary use (Support providers facing additional infection control issues, and the resumption of services) to include non regulated providers (day care, supported living, ) DP users, contingency for providers with additional issues. Co-Producing the Future Increased emphasis on co-production, Mutual Aid, Sector led Improvement Strategic Approaches: development and insight through new Strategic Provider Forum (late July) Forum meetings coming up, Care Home Forum 21st July 10am CBS Forum 28th July 2.30 pm Specialist Provider Forum 8th September SGC closely involved in regional ADASS work on approaches to coproduction and regional forum. www.southglos.gov.uk South Gloucestershire Council
