  3. Valley Youth Project Making the Annapolis Valley a better place for LGBTQ youth and our allies Began in 2009 Parent organization: Nova Scotia Youth Project Drop-in services Free transportation Training Resources

Valley Youth Project Training Session: Introduction Gender Identity and Sexuality 17 from the Library, 5 from the Counselling Centre 9am 12pm, September 6 Expectations from the training session and questions we had before we began Historical background surrounding marginalization of the LGBTQIA2S+ community Guiding principles for everyone and for straight and/or cisgendered people Dismantling barriers Notice/Ask/Invite, Advocate, Educate, Intervene Group activities and discussion

  5. Pronoun Button & Sticker Project Buttons will be available for Access Services Staff and Archives Staff to display preferred pronouns Stickers will be available for Librarians to display on their laptops Completely voluntary Initiative designed to signal to trans, non-binary, gender fluid and gender non-conforming students that we understand the importance of pronouns By sharing our preferred pronouns with others, we are emphasizing our acknowledgement of, and appreciation for, gender diversity, gender nonconformity, gender fluidity, and transgender identity Although this seems like a small gesture, by sharing our pronouns we are communicating to our diverse patrons that we see them, and that this is a space where everyone, no matter their identity, can be safe and treated with dignity and respect
