N4 Revision Surface Area E&F
Example 1 Surface area Surface area The Surface Area of a cube is the area of all 6 faces added together : In a Cube all 6 faces are the same size: 20cm 20cm Area of 1 face = l x b 20cm 20cm 20cm 20cm = 20 x 20 = 400 cm Total Surface Area = 6 x 400= 2400cm
Example 2 Surface area Surface area The Surface Area of a cube is the area of all 6 faces added together : In a Cube all 6 faces are the same size: 3.5cm 3.5cm Area of 1 face = l x b 3.5cm 3.5cm 3.5cm 3.5cm = 3.5 x 3.5 = 12.25 cm Total Surface Area = 6 x 12.25= 73.5cm
