Essential Leadership JANE REICHMAN Session Date and Time Theme Learning Objectives 1) Examine the importance of Emotional Intelligence (EI) in health care 2) Gain a clear understanding of the different elements of EI 3) Build awareness of your own EI and how to develop it 4) How to incorporate key EI competencies to build more effective leadership THURSDAY September 15 | 4-7pm Steinberg Center for Simulation and Interactive Learning 1 Emotional Intelligence 1) Identify key leadership styles 2) Identify your preferred leadership style 3) Learn when to apply different leadership styles 4) Understand human dynamics and motivators and how to build engagement THURSDAY September 22 | 4-7pm (online via Zoom) 2 Leadership Styles Jane Reichman Van Toch is a certified coach and consultant who is passionate about strengthening individual, team and organizational performance. She began as a practicing lawyer in the private sector, later becoming an educator/consultant and coach specializing in leadership development, emotional intelligence, coaching, building teams and organizational development. Financial Management MATTHEW C T Session Date and Time Theme Learning Objectives 1) Identify the difference between operational and capital funding 2) Understand how capital projects are evaluated from financial and non-financial perspectives 3) Develop tools to aid the selection of capital projects that offer positive outcomes for multiple stakeholders 4) Measure and evaluate the impacts of capital projects an organizational level Strategic Financial Decisions THURSDAY October 20 | 4-7pm (online via Zoom) 4 Matthew is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with experience in external audit, financial reporting and treasury, and a full-time faculty lecturer in accounting at McGill University, teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level. At McGill, Matthew focuses on developing his students practical knowledge and communication skills. As the First Year Coordinator of McGill s GCPA program, he is proud to support the development of future CPA professionals. Program Agenda
