Surplus ODOT Guard Rail Availability
ODOT has surplus Guard Rail available for counties at no cost, including hardware. Requests can be made through the ODOT Division #8 Local Government Engineer. The material will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis with loading assistance by ODOT personnel. Additional details and contact information are provided in the post.

Used Surplus ODOT Guard Rail It has been decided that ODOT s surplus Guard Rail should become available to the counties. There will be no cost for the Guard Rail or any hardware that is available such as bolts, nuts, shoes and splice plates. There will be a limited amount of usable posts but they will be available in a On Hand quantity only. All material requests will need to be submitted to the ODOT Division# 8 Local Government Engineer for processing. The request should on a official letterhead form and include the quantity being requested, location of the site that the material will be used at and the requesting Commissioner s signature. At this time the request will not need to go through the County board unless the Commissioner would like for it to.
Used Surplus ODOT Guard Rail The request will be filled by ODOT on a On Hand quantity basis and will be filled in the order that requests are received. ODOT personnel will load the County vehicles with the Guard Rail but must be notified at least 48 Hrs before arrival and will only be filled when ODOT personnel are available. These orders will be filled between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm Monday through Friday ( Lunch Hrs are from noon till 1:00 pm) Please allow time so that after hours loading is avoided. All crib boards, strapping, bolt containers and other transfer needs will need to be supplied by the county. It would be a wise decision to request a few pieces ( within reason) over the required amount so that you could do repairs to damaged areas without having to do another formal request to ODOT.

Used Surplus ODOT Guard Rail The pictures shown are of 1 area and there will be other areas dealt out after the initial stack is gone. A 24 ft long piece of guardrail weights 175 lbs. There should be a substantial amount of Guard Rail available in the future.
