  2. SUSD Professional Development Norms Actively Participate (silent or verbally) Be open- minded, engage within group discussions. Leave other work for another time. Practice Collegial Respect Different opinions are heard and respected whether we agree or not. Equal airtime. Demonstrate Professionalism limited/no side conversations, actively listening, phones silent/off Assume positive intent by avoiding the deficit model Parking Lot

Emergencies Exit routes (refer to map) Proactive involvement (notify presenter) Parking Lot Park in large parking lot Secure your vehicle with valuable items out of sight Use the buddy system when leaving PDC Facilities Report needs to presenter(s) Please leave the room the way you found it

  4. Purpose The purpose of the SUSD Teacher Induction Program is to provide job embedded professional development experiences combined with individualized support that results in ongoing improvement in teacher practice and student achievement. 4

  5. Best Practices: CSTP 5 Assessing Students for Learning -Briefly describe: Your context (i.e. content, grade level, students, etc.) -Discuss: What do the elements of CSTP 5 look like in my classroom? - Share your evidence - Take notes on your colleagues Best Practices using note-taking guide

  6. Mid-Year Meetings: Year One What happens BEFORE the meeting? ILP Mid-Year Reflection, cells 6-8 completed PRIOR to mid-year meeting What happens DURING the meeting? Review of Continuum of Teaching Practice ILP cell 9 will be completed (next steps for growth goals) What happens AFTER the meeting? Update & implement action plan next steps (based on cell 9)

  7. Mid-Year Meetings: Year Two FACT What happens BEFORE the meeting? Completion of Inquiry #2 and marking of the Continuum of Teaching Practice: DUE Jan. 5th Lori and Cate will contact you after Jan. 5th to schedule your mid-year meeting.

  8. Brandman Units Who? Andal (Induction Office) What? Must have completed ALL program requirements through December 15thand have 45 hours documented and verified on monthly Collaborative Logs (through December 31st) to receive the units! When? Fall registration due Friday, Jan. 12th Where? Online registration (email to come) Why? MA degree credit & salary schedule

Register for your Mid-Year Meeting based on CSTP goals See dates in Go Sign Me Up Register by Jan. 5th for ONE date based on one of Candidate s CSTP Growth Goals Induction Mid-Year Progress Monitoring Finalize markings on the Continuum of Teaching Practice for all elements of the 3 focus standards Finalize growth goals
