Assignment 1 Lucas Keefer
Symptom: Increasingly poor quality and cheap prices of clothing
Problem: Companies outsource labor for unfair wages Environmental impacts from factories Pollution to water ways and streams from textile dying disposable clothing not made to last so it is thrown away after a few months of wear.
Garments are designed to be disposed and are constructed poorly People want more clothes now! they don t expect the system to have limits Pollution from unethical dying techniques and improper waste disposal
Alternative Buy less clothing of a better quality Support companies that use sustainable initiaives Recycle old clothing instead of throwing it away
Better quality Garmets Less being thrown away so landfill impacts are diminished People will stop needing to buy so many clothes There will be less clothing thrown away Clothes are made more responibly less pollution and wasted material
Rapid Prototype Create an incentive for companies that support sustainable practice If sustainable companies could receive a tax break from the state or even city, they could charge less for their clothing in trun generating more popularity with sustainable clothing allowing small sustainable companies to compete with the larger fast fashion brands.
