Making Sustainable Education Making Sustainable Education a part of HTS Education a part of HTS Education Meaningful investigations promote discovery which change perceptions Goal: Reducing waste to engage students, having them carry over sustainable thinking and practices into their home life, continued integration of sustainability into curriculum and all staff adopting sustainable mindset Becoming consumption reduction stewards for the Earth, internalizing negative and positive impacts that we have on Earth systems Facilitating inquiry-based S.T.E.M. practices, connected to disciplinary core ideas and crosscutting curricular concepts, all at appropriate grade levels Timeline: Sept.-Dec. 2014 Improve data collection method and school community sharing for projected growth from the 2013-2014, Survey Monkey for school community; Jan.-Feb. 2015 Share analysis, reexamine outcomes and cite sustainable changes in school building operations & practices

HTS Sustainable Committee is comprised of individuals from the following: Primary Stakeholders (internal, direct engagement): Superintendent, Board of Education member, administrators, elementary and middle school teachers, facilities manager, lunch service provider and guidance counselor Secondary Stakeholders (external; are affected by or can affect its actions): PTO, S.E.E.D, general public, communities, NJSSP, NJSBA and the media (Hunterdon County Democrat)
