SWAN Wave Model Implementation for Mediterranean Wave Forecasting
This project focuses on implementing the SWAN model for high-resolution wave forecasting in the Mediterranean region. Led by Joel Azzopardi from the University of Malta, the aim is to enhance the CMEMS forecasting system with nesting capabilities using SWAN Version 41. The simulation covers two domains - Monastir and the Bay of Tunis, providing hourly forecasts up to 120 hours ahead. The use of Skiron for meteorological forcing and boundary conditions ensures accurate predictions for coastal areas in Tunisia.

SHAREMEDon demand action : SWAN, Wave model implementation The action is under the responsibility of Joel Azzopardi Faculty of Information & Communication Technology (ICT), university of Malta. Realised by Nadia Mkhinini, Sea-gust & University of Sciences Bizerta, Tunisia
Aim of the action : Implement the SWAN model which is a high resolution wave forecasting model with nesting to the CMEMS Mediterranean scale forecasting system. The Swan Version used is 41.41 The work is done via a virtual ToolBox connected to the local server.
