  1. Welcome to the TCM Media Center Your Media Center The World at Your Fingertips

  2. General Media Center Information Media Specialist Ms. Tanksley Hours of Operation 7:20 - 3:10 daily You will always need a pass to enter the TCM Media Center. **PASS WITH A PURPOSE**

  3. Media Center Rituals and Routines Entering the Media Center Always enter through front door. Sign in at the Circulation Desk. Show your pass and leave it at the circulation desk. Put your personal devices away and use the media center technology.

  4. Media Center Rituals and Routines Visiting the media center during class periods Up to five students may come from one class without the teacher with a pass written by the teacher. Conversation volume and amount should be the minimum needed to complete your task. Bring the supplies you need to complete your task.

  5. Rituals and Routines Continued Visiting the media center before school and during lunch You must have a pass WITH A PURPOSE to travel in the hallway and enter the media center. You must remain in the media center until you return to class. No pass out! Clean up your work area/station before you leave. Leave when the bell rings.

  6. Rituals and Routines Continued The following items are not allowed in the Media Center Food Liquids Health & Beauty (Makeup, Medicine, Lotion) Candy Your Personal Technology (You need permission.)

  7. Rituals and Routines Continued Keep your Media Center clean and neat! Return ALL books to the book return drop box. Return all borrowed materials by the due dates or renew the loan period. Throw away unneeded papers. Push your chair under the table or computer workstations when leaving.

  8. Borrowing Library Books from the Media Center. Students may check out up to five library books for two weeks at a time.* Students may renew a book twice. (Bring book back to renew it.) Checkout/Overdue notices will be sent out at the end of each grading period. Late fees are not charged. You must pay for lost books. *Not applicable to all books Media Specialist s discretion

  9. Borrowing Reference Books and Periodicals from the Media Center. Print Reference Books and Periodicals should be used in the Media Center. On special request and with special permission from the Media Specialist, students may get a one day check-out of reference books and periodicals.

  10. BYOT Charging Stations At RCTCM Your personal devices should only be used for completing school work. Exception: In cafeteria before and after school and during lunch. **NO MUSIC** Your cell phones are NOT to be used in the media center without permission from faculty. If you get permission to use your personal device, you must put it away before you leave. Media Center BYOT charging stations Get Permission from Media Specialist. You are responsible for your own device.
