TDES for PARAS Important Details No changes to TDES rubric for Paraprofessionals Only minor changers to the TDES portal TDES portal supports Chrome; DO NOT use Internet Explorer
TDES for Paras Important Details Paras are not required to do Growth Plans Paras do not do lesson plans Paras are not formally evaluated
TDES for Paras Important Details Paras are evaluated by the principal, assistant principal, or CIS Substitutes are not evaluated in TDES Classroom teacher is NOT the evaluator
TDES for Paras Important Details Paras who earn an Accomplished rating get 2 years off Paras who earn a Skilled rating get 1 year off Paras do not receive a bonus stipend for their TDES evaluation
TDES for Paras Domain 1 & 4 Evidence Collection post conference should be complete and in the TDES portal by December 17, 2021
TDES for Paras Domain 1 and 4 Evidence Collection can begin without the evaluator scheduling the conference or submission date. It s ok to start yourself. 6/4/2025 8

Evaluator schedules conference date Para reviews and confirms conference date Evaluator confirms conference date Para submits evidence for Domain 1/4 in portal and Domain 2/3 Para completes self evaluation on rubric Evaluator reviews evidence and marks areas of agreement/disagreement on the rubric Para reviews rubric and additional evidence from evaluator Para and evaluator meet for conference and finish rubric 5. 6. 7. 8.

TDES for Paras Domain 2 & 3 Evidence Collection post conference should be complete and in the TDES portal by March 11, 2021
TDES for Paras Composite Process 1. Composite conference is scheduled in portal 2. Para self evaluates composite 3. Evaluator marks areas of agreement/disagreement 4. Composite conference is to discuss areas of concern 5. Final composite is submitted
TDES for Paras Evidence Evidence describes what is seen and heard, not what is thought or felt. Evidence is what you do, what you say, and what you can prove. Composite Is not an observation event, it s the final assessment of your TDES Composite is due May 6, 2021

TDES for Paras 2b: Rigorous culture for learning means high expectations, no quitting, doing your best, pushing to learn and grow and not accepting whatever. 6/4/2025 15
TDES for Paras 2c: Classroom procedures are the routines in the room, entering exiting, handing in work, rotating through stations, going to the restroom, getting ready to go home. 6/4/2025 16
TDES for Paras 2d: Student behavior is corrected and monitored individually and respectfully. Good behavior is rewarded and recognized it s not all negative. 6/4/2025 17
TDES for Paras 2e: Keeping the room neat, safe, attractive, and functional for the kids. The room contributes to the learning. How do you contribute to the room? 6/4/2025 18

TDES for Paras 3b: Asking questions that make the kids think more about their answers, asking a mix of easy and hard questions, asking follow up questions, giving them time to respond. 6/4/2025 20
TDES for Paras 3c: Being engaged mean how do you hook them on what they are supposed to be learning so they dig into it. How do you help it makes sense to the kids so they can get more out of it? 6/4/2025 21
