He/She is the foundation of all Education and whole civilization of mankind, present and * The quality and competence and character of teachers to be the most significant factor influencing the quality of education and its contribution to national development. future * As nation is built by its citizens, citizens are built by teachers and teachers are made by the teacher educators. So for the development of the country, it is very important to have good teachers and good teachers can be produced only if we good system of teacher s education and dedicated and efficient teacher-educators.

  4. * The teacher can be rightly called a nation builder. Teachers through their perseverance love and sacrifices have shown us the right path in which a great man builds our nation. It is the teacher who moulds the character, personality and show the right path which leads us to the final destination. * The teacher is a representative of the society who inculcate moral precepts. In the development of a country, great attention has to be paid to education and learning as well as good morals and nobody is more suited to assist in this process than the humble teacher. Without teachers, both knowledge and moral would suffer.

Role of the Teachers The significant role of the teachers in new education policy can be highlighted as per the following details: * emphasis should be laid on the quality of the teachers. * actively promote personal transfers for the purpose of fostering the teaching experience. * teachers transfer should be made compulsory for fostering quality education in rural areas. * teachers aptitude towards education should be made compulsory and tested.

  6. * personal traits of the teachers should be described in the policy. * the roles of a teacher as a citizen, facilitator, guide and nation builder. * the workloads apart from the teaching should be curtail. * life values based education should be included in the curriculum. * emphasis on vital role of teacher as a social reformer, transformer of social values should be given priority * emphasis on teachers evaluation .

  7. TEACHERSEDUCATION Great expansion on teacher education institutions during the last decade reflects the teacher education scenario of today. Increase in the no. of schools and enrolment as a result of country wide educational programmes have resulted in increased demands for the teachers. This produced a great demand and increase of teacher education institution but the quality parameters were ignored in the process. As a result, poor quality , lack of responsibility, lack of desired qualities and dedication is seen among the pupil teachers. Some of the major challenges of the teacher education system in our policy could be described as per given below: * Poor Integrated skills: Certain skills as life skills, techno- pedagogic skills, info-savvy skills, human development skills and spiritual skills need to be integrated in the teachers education programmes.

BY Implementing proper educational programme for the teachers Proper infrastructures of educational institution Introduction of life skills and stress managements By introducing curriculum for the development of competency of teachers Solutions to challenges Introduction of subject in teachers educational programmes for improving their competency introduction of vocational programmes Introduction of Education as an elective subject in intermediate class or 10+2 .

  10. * Problem of Selection: A better selection process and use of appropriate methods is needed to improve the quality of teachers. * Introduction of Education as a subject : Education as a subject should be introduced at 11thand 12thstandard. * Programmes for competency development: Well training programmes should be implemented for the development of competency of teachers. *Introduction of subject based B.Ed programme: B.Ed programmes should be introduced based on subject specific with teaching skills. * Modern classroom technologies and effective teaching techniques : Emphasis should be given on introduction of modern classroom teaching technologies and effective ICT techniques for the teachers .

Proper institution: All should Infrastructure for teachers' training the teachers training institution proper have infrastructure. * Introduction of vocational subjects teachers: In new educational policy there should be a provision of appointment of vocational teachers as well as introduction of vocational subjects. * Faculty training for stress management:: Teachers should be trained about stress management for effective teaching.

  12. CONCLUSION Quality teachers are development of the society as well as nation. In lack of competent teachers no nation can progress. So, in today's era it has been great demand of well qualified teachers. The teachers play an important role in all round development of the whole mankind. In fact, teachers are the single most influential and powerful force for equity, access and quality in education. There is a shortage of well trained teachers worldwide. Keeping these in view it has been imperative to develop and implement various teachers educational programmes for imparting the quality education to the students. the key factors for sustainable
