Information for school staff: This presentation is for you to use with your students: please identify those needing help to find an apprenticeship and encourage them to sign up for this new free support service. This service is part of a pilot delivered by Dept for Education and UCAS in partnership with North East LEP and Educational Development Trust. Why have we created this service? You ve told us that it s harder to find and apply for apprenticeships than university or college courses (an apprenticeship is a job). We know one size does not fit all. We believe our partners in your local area can help you as they understand the opportunities and challenges you face. The DfE/UCAS Apprenticeship Pilot 4
Who is this service for? Anyone in year 13 at school or college interested in securing an apprenticeship this year can use the service to Get an Apprenticeship Adviser. You may or may not have applied to university, you may have offers, you can still pursue an apprenticeship as an alternative route. You may not know which apprenticeships are best for your future. What is this service? Get an Apprenticeship Adviser is a way to connect directly with partners in your area who can offer tailored support by telephone or email. Provide your details via our secure digital service which will be sent to the right people in your region who can offer the support you need. The service is free to use. How to use this service? There are two ways to get support: 1. Directly via our online form: https://earlyconnect.apprenticeships.education.gov.uk/E37000025 2. Some students may access the service via the UCAS Hub. Complete the online form and submit your request. Our partner will contact you within three working days. You ll need to provide your name and contact details. We ll also ask what you re interested in (if you are not sure, that s ok). The DfE/UCAS Apprenticeship Pilot 7
