Paryayanama Paryayanama Dhavala- The external layer of bark is white in colour. Indradru- Tree is a very potent medicine. Nadisarja- Usually found in river banks. Kakubha- A large tree covers large area. Partha, Veeravriksha- A potent tree. Swetavaha- Bark is white in colour. Hrudrogavairi Very useful in cardiac problem.
Morphology Morphology A large tree with huge buttressed trunk and horizontally spreading branches. Bark- Smooth, grey, Sap wood is reddish white and heart wood is brown. Leaves- Sub opposite, 10-15 cm long, oblong or eliptic oblong, short petiole and 2 glands are present at the base of leaf. Inflorescence- Short axillary spikes or terminal panicle. Flowers- sessile. Fruits- Drupe.

RASAPANCHAKA RASAPANCHAKA Rasa Ka aya. Vip ka Katu Guna Ruksa and Laghu Virya Sheeta Prabh va Hrdya Do akarma: Kaphapitta maka. Rogaghnakarma (Pharmacological action): Hrdya, kaphaghna, visaghna, ksayagna, raktavikarahara, medhya, vranaropana, pitaghna, mehaghna, stambana, balya and jvaraghna.

In kustha, bath is given with Khadira, Aragvadha and Arjuna and same may be given internally. 5. In vrana, the leaves of Kadamba. Arjuna, Nimba, Patali, Pippali and Arka are useful for covering the wound
Mtr (Dose): C rna 3 to 6 gms. Ksirapaka 10 to 30 ml. Kwatha 50 to 100 ml. Swarasa 10 to 20 ml Au adhayoga (Formulations): 1. P rth dyarishta. 2. Arjuna ghrta 3. Kakubh di c rna. 4. N g rjun bhera rasa 5. Arjun rista. Substitutes and Adultrants: Bark of other species of TERMINALIA are found as an adultrant. Among these the bark of TERMINALIA alata Heyne ,. T. tomentosa W. and A. most common. The main distinguishing character of the adulterant is a rough, cracked or fissured external surface of dark brown colour and longitudinally striated inner surfaceof Terminalia
