It was 56 miles in circuit and more splendid than anywhere else. Nabonidus retreated and was captured in the city of Babylon by Cyrus. Sippar, a city in the Babylonian empire, was captured by Cyrus without a fight. The Babylonian King, Nabonidus, fled.
