  1. This is my Beloved Son - Matthew 3:16-19

  2. Epiphany = "epiphaneia," "appearing" or "revealing.

  3. Christ has many services to be done: some are easy, others are difficult; some bring honour, others bring reproach; some are suitable to our natural inclinations and material interests, others are contrary to both; in some we may please Christ and please ourselves; in others we cannot please Christ except by denying ourselves. Yet the power to do all these things is given to us in Christ, who strengthens us.

  4. 1. The Mission of the Son 15 Jesus replied, Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness. Then John consented..

  5. 2. The Anointing of the Spirit 16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.

  6. 3. The Love of the Father 17 And a voice from heaven said, This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.

  7. ..we are loved not for what we do but because we exist. It cannot be earned; it is a gift. This is the most liberating truth in existence, that we are loved, known, forgiven and free. - Charlie Mackesy
