  3. Current state of the union of the State Bar financial, operations, service/program changes from the Executive Director s daily oversight perspective.

  4. What is the role of the following groups in the overall operations and oversight of the CA State Bar: a. State Bar Staff b. State Bar Board of Trustees c. State Bar Members d. Legislature e. Supreme Court

  5. Please provide an overview of the current issues related to the State Bar from each of your perspectives.

  6. Can you share the history of the conflicts over the bar s functions, i.e. how did we get here?

  7. What can you share about the bar s past and current efforts at reform? Which ones have been successful and which ones have not?

  8. What is each of your view on the ROLE of a state bar association in the legal profession AND in society?

  9. We have heard a lot about whether the CA State Bar should be unified or de-unified. How would you explain the difference between a unified bar association and a de-unified bar association? In your opinion, what are the pros and con of each for CA?

  10. Have you seen or heard of another state bar association that you think is ideal or better than the CA state bar model? If yes, please explain the model and why you think it is better.

  11. What are the various realistic options for a future CA state bar model and what are the expected consequences of said model?

  12. If you could design the work through for how to get to the right place for the CA State bar, how would you describe your re- design plan?

  13. What activities and/or changes do you anticipate with regard to the CA State Bar in 2017 from your perspective?
