  11. Acts 19:2 did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? he asked them. No, they replied, we haven t even heard there is a Holy Spirit.

  12. Acts 19:3 Then what baptism did you experience? he asked. And they replied, The baptism of John.

  13. Acts 19:4 Paul said, John s baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning Jesus.

  14. Acts 19:5 As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in other tonguesand prophesied.

  15. Matthew 3:11 I baptize with water those who turn from their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is far greater than I am--so much greater that I am not even worthy to be his slave. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
