The Ministry of the Prophet
A prophet is a divine messenger appointed by God to speak on His behalf to guide and instruct His people. This gift is not self-assigned but given by God for specific purposes within the Church. The role of a prophet is crucial in rooting out, pulling down, destroying, and building up according to God's will. This collection of images and scriptures provides insights into the unique calling and function of a prophet in the body of Christ.

GOFAMINT NATIONAL FIVEFOLD MINISTRY PRAYER CAMPAIGN PASTOR TAIWO FAGBUYI PROPHETS
When he [Jesus] ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men And he gave some, APOSTLES; and some, PROPHETS; and some, EVANGELISTS; and some, PASTORS and TEACHERS. Ephesians 4:8,11 2
A PROPHET Is a person who receives a divine message and speaks to people on behalf of god. He is god s spokesperson for a given place, time and purpose 3
A PROPHET is a ministry gift given by God to the Church. No one can make himself a prophet or call himself to be a prophet. God alone calls and sets prophets in the Church. There is an anointing on that office and the spiritual equipping of the Holy Spirit which enables a person to fulfill that function to the Body of Christ. 4
Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me, Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms to root out and pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant Jeremiah 1:9-11, NKJV 6
The Bible says a man's gift makes room for him. Prov. 18:16 7
NOTE a person is called to the office of the prophet, he shouldn't have to advertise it. 8
NOTE the ministerial gift of the Prophet is represented on the hand as the index finger. 9
NOTE gifts of prophecy may be widespread across the church. Acts 2:17 NIV : In the last days, God says, I will pour my spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy However, there are some, who are called to the office of the prophet, that bear more grace and authority to act and speak on God s behalf than those with just the gift of prophecy. 10

Prophets Operate With Different Measures of The Anointing. John 3:34; Rom. 12:3; 2 Kings 2:9 16
NOTE There are different degrees or levels of anointing to those standing in the fivefold ministry offices. It is possible for those who are called to these ministry offices to operate on different levels of anointing; some operate with a greater anointing and some with a lesser anointing in a given ministry office 17
NOTE There are not only different classes of prophets, but within a given rank or class of prophetic office, there are also different measures of anointing to those standing in that office. 18
The New Testament Prophet Is a Seer. 19
NOTE Another element of the prophetic ministry is that the prophet is a seer. A seer is one who sees into the realm of the spirit through the gift of discerning of spirits. A vision is a manifestation of the gift of discerning of spirits in operation. 20
NOTE The gift of discerning of spirits may also be accompanied by a word of wisdom or a word of knowledge. But the vision itself is the discerning of spirits in operation because it allows the prophet to see and hear in the realm of the spirit. 21
There are revelation gifts which qualify a prophet to stand in that office 22
NOTE The word of knowledge and/or the word of wisdom. The gift of discerning of spirits. Prophecy. 23
NOTE Anyone could have a word of knowledge, a word of wisdom, or discerning of spirits operate in his life occasionally. But the prophet has the revelation gifts operating in his life on a more consistent basis. 24
The Prophet is a Preacher or Teacher of the Word 25
NOTE The ministry of the prophet is word based. To "preach" means to proclaim or to tell. To "teach" means to expound or to explain 26
NOTE Paul operated in both the preaching and the teaching ministry of the prophet (1 Tim. 2:7; 2 Tim. 1:11). John the Baptist operated in the preaching ministry of the prophet, preaching repentance (Matt. 3:1-2; Lk.7:28) 27
NOTE Teaching and preaching the Word is the major part of a prophet's ministry, not giving out personal messages/prophecies to people. 28
A prophet who bases his ministry on personal messages/prophecies instead of on preaching or teaching the Word will get into error and wreak havoc in the Body of Christ. POWER POINT 29
Prophets Speak From The Inspiration of the Moment 30
NOTE One of the elements of the prophet's ministry is divinely inspired speaking, or speaking under the unction and power of the Holy Spirit on the inspiration of the moment. 31
NOTE the prophet has other revelation gifts of the Spirit operating in his ministry on at a greater frequency and on a more consistent basis than the pastor, evangelist and teacher. 32
The Role of Music in the Prophetic Office 33
NOTE Music inspired by the Holy Spirit can often enhance the prophetic anointing. In the Old Testament, music played a crucial part in the prophet's ministry (2 Kings 3:15). When the minstrel played, the hand of the Lord (the Holy Ghost) moved upon the prophet. 34
