  2. The Parthenon was built to honor the Greek Goddess named Athena. This temple was built so people could worship and give her thanks. People would sacrifice weapons and animals in this temple for her liking.

  3. The Parthenon is located in Athens Greece. It was built in 447 B.C. It is measured at the top step, the diminsions of the base of the Parthenon 228 feet x 330 feet. The Cella (The Hidden Center) is 97 feet long x95 feet wide. With eternal Doric colonades in 2 teers necessary for the stucture to support the roof. On the outside the Doric columns measure 3 feet, in diameter and are 34 feet high . The corner columns are slightly larger in diameter. The styobate has and upward curvidature toward its center of 2 feet on the east and the west of the 140 feet on the sides.

  4. These are five main architects for the Parthenon. Pericles, Phidias, Kalamis, Ictinus, Calibrates. Pericles was the leading statesman of Athenian. Ictinus and Calibrates were the main architects. Phidias and Kalamis were the head designers.

  5. The Greek Godess Athena represents wisdom, strength, and war. Her father is Zeus and mother is Hena. She ordered five important men to build a temple where she could come back and rest, people could sacrifice things to her, and worship her. She named it the Parthenon. Athena is one of the most famous Greek Mythology characters ever.
