The Breaking of the Seals Revelation 6 - 7
The Revelation of Jesus Christ reveals the global climax of God s coming Kingdom
The Revelation of Jesus Christ also reveals the END of the intergalactic WAR between Jesus & Satan
Important: When John wrote Revelation he did not tell us what order the events would transpire
Important: What John did was to describe the events in the order it was revealed to him by Jesus
Important: Revelation, as a whole, is therefore not a linear approach to the end of time
Revelation 6: 1-8 introduces us to the beginning of the Judgments of God s Wrath
Revelation 6: 1-8 characterizes the opening days of the days referred to as the Great Tribulation
Revelation 6: 1-8 introduces us to the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse
Revelation 6: 1-2 Rider on white horse who has a bow, a crown and goes out to conquer
Two theories: 1. Jesus 2. Antichrist; the great imitator who resembles Jesus
Revelation 6: 3-4 Rider on fiery red horse, with a great sword; takes peace from the world, turns humanity against itself
Revelation 6: 5-6 Rider on black horse with a pair of scales; war brings about a drastic shortage of food, a great famine, and an economic catastrophe
Revelation 6: 7-8 Rider on pale horse, whose name is Death with Hades following him
Revelation 6: 7-8 War, famine, brings physical death; Hades comes to claim the souls of the unbelievers; fourth of earth s population dies
These verses of the Four Horsemen are theologically challenging and deals with a phenomenon hard for us to grasp!
I believe these four seal-judgments are references to forces already at work among us but will occur at an unprecedented rate and time
I believe this is why it is very important for believers today to seriously live a life that HOLDS FAST to Jesus and His Word!
Revelation 6: 9 - 11 Fifth seal reflects the souls of those who were martyrs who were slain because of their witness
Revelation 6: 9 - 11 These martyrs cry out, How much longer, O Lord they should be patient a little longer until other servants would be killed
Revelation 6: 12 - 17 Reveals a vivid description of tremendous chaos of nature throughout the whole world; His great day of Wrath has come!
Revelation 7: 1- 7 Wait, do no harm, until we have sealed the servants of God 144,000 of children of Israel
Revelation 7: 4 To be sealed indicates ownership and protection; today believers are sealed by the Holy Spirit
Revelation 7: 9 - 17 The great multiple of Martyrs who are faithful to Jesus during the Great Tribulation
We just finished in a whirlwind discussing a glimpse of the beginning of God s Wrath of Judgement referred to as the Great Tribulation
What Should Be Our Response?
Ephesians 6: 10 - 18 Be strong in the Lord; put on the full armor of God; pray in the Spirit; be alert and keep praying! HOLD FAST to Jesus!
