The road to autonomous learning CHAP. 1
The elements of our quality world include people, things and ideas most important to us. To improve our quality world, we need to reflect, think deeply and carefully. There are four areas of life that you should reflect upon: See p. 19 in the textbook. Draw a picture of the diagram in your notes: Quality World
1. Relationships We need to have someone to share our lives with. Ask yourself if the relationship is healthy or harmful
2. Work In most cultures people work most of their lives. Find a job that will help you have a good quality of life. Currently academics are your work. Practice a professional attitude and work habits that will follow your in your future goals.
3. Belief All of us believe in something. Whether we believe in religion or atheism, we all believe. It is human nature to try to make sense of our existence. It s healthy to question our beliefs. What are your beliefs? What values do you think are important?
4. Service A basic tenet of humans is that we rely on others and they rely on us. We are individuals but also part of a larger group. People, who are willing to work for the common good, participate in service opportunities. How does service give meaning a purpose to your life?
