VERBAL IRONY The speaker says one thing but means something else. Very close to sarcasm
SITUATIONAL IRONY The outcome of an event is different from what is expected. Examples: A fire station burns down, a pilot has a fear of heights.
DRAMATIC IRONY The audience or reader understands more about a character or event than another character does.
