Collection of detailed consumption or income data can be very time-consuming, costly, and difficult, leading to lags in reporting time and data constraints. Policy makers face challenges in understanding and responding to time-sensitive economic developments. Efforts are being made to improve the timeliness of existing data and leverage existing data to create new insights in poverty monitoring in Europe and Central Asia.
