  2. What is YHDP? Demonstration program to show how a comprehensive approach to serving homeless youth, age 24 and under can dramatically reduce youth homelessness Awarded: Round 1: $33 million to ten communities, four of which are rural Round 2: $43 million to eleven communities, five of which are rural Round 3: $75 million to twenty-five communities, eight of which are rural Round 4: $75 million to twenty-five communities, eight of which are rural

What YHDP requires Creating a comprehensive plan to address youth homelessness in the community Developing partnerships with RHY providers, child welfare, education, juvenile justice, and many others Developing innovative projects to address youth homelessness, including diversion, host homes, RRH, youth navigators, etc.

  4. What communities gain In-depth technical assistance to help develop the coordinated community plan and projects Enhanced ability to ask for waivers of regulatory and statutory requirements under the CoC program Concentrated funding to focus on addressing and ending youth homelessness in the community Funding can roll over into the CoC s ARD at the end of the two-year YHDP projects

  6. Round 3stay tuned! Congress appropriated $75 million in FY2018 appropriations for a YHDP in up to 25 communities, 8 of which must be rural HUD working on developing the NOFA, which should be released soon!
