Matthew 10:34-37 Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in- law against her mother-in-law ; and a man s enemies will be those of his own household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me (NKJV).c
Matthew 10:34-37 Did not come to bring peace but a sword We often think Jesus should fulfill our expectations of what He will do. There are some things He did not do. We can learn as much from these things as we do from the things He did.
Things Jesus Did Not Do 1. He did not please everyone (John 15:18-20, 25; Gal. 1:10). 2. He did not win everyone He taught (John 7:2-5; 12:37-38). 3. He did not save everyone (John 1:11-13; 5:39-40; Matt. 7:21-23).
Things Jesus Did Not Do 4. He did not keep all who came to Him (John 17:12; 2 Tim. 4:2-4). 5. He did not save Himself from the cross (John 12:27-28; Matt. 1:21). 6. He did not save anyone outside of His body (Eph. 5:23; Acts 20:28).
